If you are always looking for the perfect shell, you’re going to miss all of the other fabulous crap on the beach.
The end justifies the means is seldom true. No end is worthwhile pursuing if it means we have to give up our values to achieve it. Life is often better measured by more than material profit. Do you profit with grace and elegance? This reminds me of a card I gave a friend…”if you are always looking for the perfect shell, you’re going to miss all of the other fabulous crap on the beach.”
This takes me back to the journey. If you are so focused on the outcome you want, you believe you want, you will miss out on all of the amazing opportunities and possibilities that the universe presents to you. You will also miss out on the growth opportunities to become the person you want to be to achieve your dreams. This means that the end could look totally different and be much so much more fabulous than you could have ever imagined! For me, this manifests itself as control. And boy do I love to control! It’s why I spent 35 years in corporate telling people what I thought they should do. Command and control is my very good friend and I am really trying to break up with it!
Today I will approach my journey with curiosity, wonder and a sense of adventure. I will strap on my safari hat and look for all of the fabulous crap along the way!
